About the She Shed
Sheds are rising in popularity because the pace of our lives and the constant demands on our time have led for many to look for a place to retreat to that has no phone, (unless you bring one with you), doesn’t need to be cleaned (it’s a shed for heavens sake), and offers the owner the opportunity to disconnect and relax. It doesn’t need to be far away from the house, it just needs to be separate and have a door you can close if need be.
They are popping up all over and can be for a small Tiki Bar, a quiet space to write or read, a spot for tea with your friends, or a place to practice your hobby-leave the mess inside and not think about it again.
Building the Shed
The design and decoration of the shed is equally important. It needs to express something about it’s owner. Fancy lighting, or old signs on the wall, salvaged materials all make for a structure that makes a statement.
We had a chance to build one of these fun get-aways when one local woman contacted us saying she was looking for something eclectic built at her house to hold all her potting and planting things. We went to work designing something that would have some architectural charm and still be useful as a potting shed. We made sure it had a small outside space since some of the activity would be outside with lots of high storage inside. It doesn’t have a huge amount of square footage, but the design works great for what it was intended for.
I think you will agree, the vibrant colors and mismatched salvage doors make for a beautiful, eclectic end product. Would you like one of these trending new she sheds? Let us know and we could start designing yours today!
